Ryan Griessmeyer, President

Ryan is the President of Race Day Events and has been with Race Day since day one, in 2006. Ryan is originally from Sheboygan, WI and now currently lives in Verona with his wife and son. His favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers and in his spare time he enjoys running and doing triathlons. His favorite thing about Race Day is that every day brings something different and challenging. Ryan's favorite event to work is Scenic Shore 150. He says, "they're long days with rewarding results, and don't forget the beautiful scenery."

Brodie Birkel, Marketing/Race Director/Super Happy Fun Hour Director

Brodie has been with Race Day since 2010, and volunteered for a year before that. He is originally from Eau Claire, WI, but currently lives in Madison with his beautiful wife, Lauren and his daughter Hayden and twin boys, Dax and Keaton. His favorite sports teams are the Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. In his spare time you can find him running trails, snowshoeing, in the gym or just lounging with his family. Brodie's favorite thing about Race Day is it's diverse set of personalities that get along well together. He said, "it makes getting up at 3 a.m a lot easier knowing you love what you do and the people you work with." His favorite event to work is the Lake Monona 20K because he says, "it's a small event with a ton of runners. The small feel to the event with live music, free beer and food has kept the Madison area's oldest race thriving."

Lori Cerniglia, Volunteer Coordinator

Lori has been with Race Day since 2015. She was born and raised in Madison, made her way to the Quad Cities and Milwaukee area, but made her way back to Madison where she currently lives. She enjoys watching the Green Bay Packers and the Badger football, basketball and hockey teams. In her spare time she likes to work out, hike, travel and hang with friends and family. Lori's favorite thing about working for Race Day is the fact that it's a second family. She says, "It is such an amazing place to work, everyone is so friendly, supportive and willing to help. It has a fun atmosphere, we work hard but we also know how to have fun. It has taken me a long time, but I have finally found a job that I love!" She's not sure if she has a favorite event because they're all fun in their own way. If she had to pick one, she'd pick Run Santa Run because she loves to see everyone dressed up and in the Holiday spirit.


Erin Dougherty, Madison Festivals Operations

Erin has been with Race Day since 2014 and with Madison Festivals since 2011. She is originally from Oshkosh, WI and currently lives in Madison with her pup, Miley. Her favorite sports team is the Badgers and in her spare time she enjoys running, playing soccer and eating Goldfish. Erin's favorite thing about Race Day is the laid-back office atmosphere and fun co-workers. She says her favorite event to work is the Taste of Madison because "it's one of Madison's biggest events and once the event is over, you feel a huge sense of accomplishment. Plus, you get to listen to live music and eat delicious food all weekend!"

Austin Frank, Warehouse/Course

Austin has been with Race Day since 2009. He's originally from DeForest, WI but he currently lives in Appleton while he attends Lawrence University. His favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers and in his spare time he likes to play hockey and golf. Austin's favorite thing about Race Day is the people and the work atmosphere. His favorite event is the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon because he's been able to work this event every year since he's been with Race Day and he's been able to see it grow and improve tremendously over the years. He also enjoys working the rest of the events in the Wisconsin Triathlon Series.


autumn

Autumn Hayes, Timing Project Manager

Autumn has been with Race Day since 2015. She's originally from Eau Claire, WI and currently lives in Madison with her miniature dachshund, Penny. She doesn't watch a lot of sports but enjoys cheering on the Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Autumn likes to be adventurous and try new restaurants and activities; you name it and she's up for it! Her favorite thing about Race Day is the fun atmosphere and everyone works hard and has a lot of fun too. She can't tell you how many times she's been asked if Race Day is hiring! Autumn's favorite event is Run Santa Run - she didn't get to work it, but she really wanted to because she says, "it looked like a lot of fun and I ran it the first year and had a blast."


Sarah Kleemann, Web Guru/Project Coordinator

Sarah has been with Race Day since the summer of 2014. Sarah is from Madison and still lives there. She likes the Brewers and likes to cheer on the Badgers and Packers and almost any hockey team as well. In her spare time she likes to swim, take hundreds of photos, go to concerts and squeeze in as much travel time as she can. Sarah's favorite thing about Race Day is the people she gets to work with and the puppies that come to play. Her favorite event to work is Run Santa Run because of all the holiday fun that people bring.


Peter "Petey-O" Oyen, Warehouse Knight

Peter has been with Race Day since 2008. He's originally from Good Ol Potosi, Potosi Beer and Catfish Capital of the World! In his spare time you can catch him running his business of Rocket Bicycle Studio, Traveling, Cycling, strolling the beaches, trying new restaurants, listening to House Music and SnapChatting. His favorite sports team is the UCLA Bruins Basketball team. Peter said his favorite thing about working at Race Day is that "It's like working with professional clowns without the makeup. Everyone is hard working and make the events enjoyable" and being able to travel to new places/events. His favorite events are Scenic Shore 150 and Horribly Hilly Hundreds.

Ryan Richards, Business Development/Race Director

Ryan has been with Race Day for a long time. He's originally from Eau Claire, WI and currently lives in Madison with his awesome wife and hilarious three boys. His favorite sports teams include the Minnesota Vikings and King Faisal Babes. In his spare time he likes to read GQ, create Pooktre Art, collect elongated coins and enjoys watching beetle fighting. Ryan's favorite thing about Race Day is the people he gets to work with because they're the coolest. His favorite event to work is It's Glow Time! 5K because of all the cool decorations, pretty lights and the disco ball you can dance under at the finish line.

Debbie Ross, Human Resources

Debbie has been with Race Day since 2012. She grew up in Lincolnshire, IL and now lives in Madison with her husband and three children. Debbie's favorite sports team is the Green Bay Packers. In her spare time she enjoys running, triathlon training and raising her kids to be fabulous adults. Her favorite thing about Race Day is the fun environment and industry and the flexibility at Race Day. Debbie's favorite event to work is Tri-ing for Children's Kids Race because she loves watching and helping the new generations of triathletes.


Lisa Sherven, Registration/Athlete Services

Lisa has been with Race Day since the start of busy season in 2016 after deciding that working at Race Day was more fun than executive management. Lisa is also a nurse at the VA hospital in the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) clinic. She is married to her husband Jon and they have an adorable Beagle named Riley as well as multiple foster pups through FetchWI. Lisa is a proud aunt to Kayla, Hunter, Mason and Miles, supporting them in all their athletics and school events. Lisa is a long time runner and triathlete and claims to remember a day when all they ran in was cotton and the only nutrition available was Power Bars! She and Jon love to ski and plan to live in the mountains when they retire. Lisa’s favorite thing about working at Race Day is simply working hard and playing while we work. She says it really never feels like work, even getting up at 3 am. Lisa’s favorite event so far is probably the Pardeeville Triathlon because it was small and the majority of the participants are first timers or those that are not hard core triathletes. The atmosphere is super fun and the excitement was inspiring. She said, "being able to have two jobs doing work that I absolutely love and am passionate about is simply a dream come true. I love helping people with serious illness and in pursuit of goals. And when the two can be combined, that is the ultimate achievement.”

Abbey VanValkenberg, Director or Project Management/Timing

Abbey has been with Race Day since October of 2015. She's originally from Grand Rapids, MI and has bounced around the country gaining experience in event management. She now lives in Madison with her husband Joe and her Golden Retrievers, Denard and puppy Maizey Blue. Her favorite sports team is the University of Michigan - GO BLUE! Abbey's hobbies include running, cycling, swimming and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite thing so far about Race Day is the people she gets to work with every day and the copious amounts of leftover sweets around the office. Her favorite event so far is Horribly HIlly Hundreds. She says, "the event has a lot of moving parts, but I like the challenge and look forward to it coming all together for an awesome event this summer."


CJ Werley, Sponsorship Director

CJ has been with Race Day since the summer of 2016! He was born and raised in Appalachia, Ohio - about an hour from where Deliverance was filmed. He was an All-American Golfer at Kent State University. He's also a diehard Kent State Golden Flashes fan. He's also a fan of the Packers, but is not affiliated or a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes in anyway. In his spare time he likes to IM Brodie and Brad Birkel. His favorite event is the Wiconsin Milkman Triathlon.

Garrett Wilson, Project Manager/Timing

Garret has been with race day since 2014 as a Weekend Warrior and now works in the office. He was born in Iowa, grew up in Mukwanago and now lives in Madison. His favorite team is the Ghost Squirrels which is the MUFA team he belongs to. In his spare time he enjoys biking, backpacking, running, photography and reading a good book. Garrett's favorite event is the Prairie State Cycling Series.
